Houston Arboretum Surprise Proposal: Monica & Eddie

Let me begin by saying what a crazy past month it has been, whew!  Spring is traditionally known in the wedding industry as “engagement season” and this blog is about just that.  When we were asked by Teri of Pearl and Peony Events to be a part of a top-secret surprise proposal you can imagine our excitement!  Here’s how it all went down:  Eddie (our groom-to-be) asked Teri to  put her incredibly creative touch on staging a surprise proposal for his long-time girlfriend Monica.  Luckily, Monica and Teri had been friends previously (Teri’s husband & Eddie work together) and Teri decided to ask Monica to please model for her (to get a few shots for her website) and in exchange for her services Monica would get to have her make-up professionally done by the amazing Adorne Artistry.  Monica happily agreed to do her friend a favor and the plan was set in motion.  Here are a few of our favorites from the day-

A gorgeous day at the Houston Arboretum albeit a bit chilly- you would never know Monica was freezing as she was the perfect “model” for her friend.

Keep in mind that Monica agreed to this blindfolding for the sake of “effect” and storytelling for her friends website…oh the little white lies we tell

They snuggled up close and were clearly in love- I was so excited and had to remind myself to be careful not to spill-the-beans for what was to come.

Monica is just gorgeous!!!!! And her style…..gah!!!!

I love this shot below as I imagine Eddie is thinking…”I’m about to propose to the woman of my dreams”.

All props from the baskets, real pastries, fresh fruit, and flowers were chosen by Pearl and Peony Events…..except the shoes of course!

Mind you…these “models” had ZERO coaching…just naturally adorable and cozy in their love.

While Monica & Eddie were enjoying their picnic Teri was down the trail a bit creating yet another surprise for Monica……..

Eddie requested macaroons for his lovely lady as she adores them…pure perfection!

After all that excitement they both needed to sit down for a moment and let the adrenaline subside……..

Monica & Eddie, we had an amazing time with you and are so thankful to have been a part of this momentous occasion in your lives. We wish the both of you all the best in your love and life and can’t wait to hear all about your wedding plans!
